About Us

When Lorraine and Geoff Mance bought their first dairy goat in 1967, they had no idea it would lead to running a business centred around those often-misunderstood animals.  Lorraine says “dairy goats changed my life!” and she now runs Westhaven Dairy, a business built from scratch.
Westhaven Dairy is located in Launceston, Tasmania, and produces an excellent range of hand made Cows' and Goats' milk cheeses and yoghurts.  All the milk is produced in the clean, green environment of Northern Tasmania and is hand made into products with no added colours, flavours or emulsifiers.  We endeavour to keep our products as natural as possible.
Most of the goats‘ milk at Westhaven Dairy is made into the soft, French style cheese “Chevre”, which is sold natural or in one of five flavours. Geoff and Lorraine also make fetta cheese, marinated products and yoghurt from goat’s milk and fetta, yoghurt, paneer and marinated products from cows milk.

Westhaven Dairy continues to grow producing exceptional quality products that can only be achieved by small boutique dairy manufacturers.

This publication is available free of charge from the Office for Women at www.ofw.facsia.gov.au/publications.  The participants will be available for  any needed input for other women wanting to start a small business.
